I need help with restoring missing files
Can anyone help me to restore files from the "all files" tab on Dropbox? Yesterday (20250307) all my files disappered from my dropbox account. I was able to restore all the folders with their files from 'events'. Unfortunately all files from the root file in Dropbox are not found in 'events'. Has anyone experience on a cas like this and how did you solve it? Or is it possible to reach someone from a support-team from Dropbox who can help me with this issue? The missing files are very important for me!
thanks in advance!
Djali
My problem is solved!! Many thanks to Walter and the Dropbox Staff!
Just for all users with the same problem of missing files:
- Open your Home Dropbox: dropbox.com/home
- Change your URL to: dropbox.com/event
- Click on the event which is named 'deleted'. In the next window you get the possibility to restore the file(s).
Btw: On this page you can also adjust the date 30 days back to see possible more deleted items.

Hi there Djali - sorry to hear about your missing files.
If you made sure that you're looking at the correct account, can you have a look at your deleted files page and the events page again and let us know what you find?
Thanks!

On the eventueel page I can see the restored folders with theorie files. In the checkbox: 'All events' is chosen and date is: 4/8/2025.
Deleted files page is empty.
Thanks in advance for helping!

I see, so the files must have been restored already Djali
Can you clear your browser's cache and/or try another browser to check your account's homepage?
If you still have missing files, let me know and I'll reach out via email to investigate further.

Hi Walter,
I've cleared all the cache for the last 7 days and signed in again in Dropbox with my account.
Sadly enough the files in root folder (all tabs) are still missing. All other files stored in folders are still there. I would really appreciate your help with this!

Hi from me as well, Djali! One more question before we move you to email; do you perhaps remember the name of a file that was previously saved in your root Dropbox?
If you do, Iād like you to use the search bar in your homepage and let me know if you get any results, when typing in its name.
