MS Word inserted date and times are incorrect in Dropbox version of file

The MS Word inserted date and time stamp is incorrect in the Dropbox version of my Word file but all other changes made to the text in that file are correctly made/updated as the file gets saved.  I thought maybe that had something to do with it being inserted in the Header but when I inserted the time and date in the body of the text, I had the same issue *and* it had the same incorrect time and date as the one I inserted in the header a few days ago.

  • Walter, thanks very much for your help with this issue. I am happy to say it looks like the issue is resolved although I do not know why or how. I have done so many steps in trying to fix this that ihonestly don;t remember them all or whihc one may have fixed it.  FWIW, I am using Word 365. It may have been fixed, as you suggested, by logging out completely then logging back in. That may have been one of the steps I took.

At any rate, it appears to be fixed and for tha, I am grateful. Thanks again.

Hello JBHorse - welcome to our Community!

That sounds a bit strange; can you send me a screenshot of how this looks like so I can have a better view?

Also, can you check your timezone in your account's settings and on your computer and let me know what you find?

    Thanks!

This is the inserted date and time shown in the doc as of 11/21 6:39. I updated that several times this AM and it remiains unchanged  in the DRopbox version. This same time and date appears in the second inserted date and time that I placed in the body of the text.

The timezones on my machine and DRopbox are the same. I don;t think it is a time zone issue anyway because the difference in the dates is severl days, not just a few hours.

Thanks for the swift response JBHorse.

I'm sorry to ask, is the screenshot taken from Word Online or within the Word app itself?

To help isolate this issue, could you please try quitting the Dropbox application by using the following steps:

    • Click the Dropbox icon in your system tray (Windows) or menu bar (Mac/Linux)
    • Click on your profile picture or initials to the right of the search bar and select "Quit Dropbox"

If the issue persists when Dropbox is completely closed, this suggests that the cause is related to something outside of the Dropbox application - maybe an outdated version of Word?. You may want to check other applications or components of your Operating System that could be causing this.

If the issue is resolved when Dropbox is completely closed, please let me know.
