My Dropbox account is out of space. Should I permanently delete some shared folders?
Good day
My client shared some of his folders with me, but now I can't access anymore (new year's folders) due to my Dropbox out of storage. I have deleted some of the folders from my Dropbox but still can't access the new folders. It is a problem - I am only viewing the folders - doesn't upload anything. Is there a way to permanently delete the old folders in/on my Dropbox without deleting it on his side?

Hi Sonika, and thanks for posting this on our forum.
If you’ve already deleted the old folders from your Dropbox account, then they should no longer be taking up space from it (so, you don’t need to permanently delete them as well).
Do you have any other files/folders at your All files page here that you don’t need? If yes, you can go ahead and delete those, too.
Otherwise, the owner of these folders can send you a shared link with view-only permissions instead; this way, you can access the folders without saving them to your Dropbox account and using up its space.
Let me know, if that helps.
