My files are missing and random files appeared in my account

Why is my dropbox filled with random files I did not put there? Why are MY FILES MISSING ? Chatbox  just sends me to FAQs and  does not understand anything I ask it?

What is http://www.dropbox.com/events showing?

Does it match what is on your desktop folder if you open the \Dropbox directory?
