We should be able to completely remove an external collaborator from an account.
Should be able to completely remove an external collaborator from an account. I deleted the original files I had shared with external collaborators before renewing my Dropbox account and upgrading it to a Business account. I am not able to delete external collaborators. I have no wish to see their names or share information with now or in the future. DEVELOPERS PLEASE CONTACT ME WHEN THIS CORRECTION IS MADE!

Hi petalargie, thanks for messaging the Community.
Could you clarify what you mean by not being able to remove the external collaborators?
Do they still have access to your shared files, even though they were deleted? Are these shared links, or shared folders and files?
This will help me to assist further!

Hi Megan,
I didn't see the message. Apologies.
1. I deleted the original files.
2. I tried to delete external collaborators and do not see the option to do so.
3. I upgraded to a Business account and would like to use this service, however would not do so if the account is insecure.

Sorry for jumping in, petalargie. First off, I’d like to mention that, if these users were never added to your Dropbox team as members, they shouldn’t be part of it, which is why there’s no option to remove them per se.
Now, do you perhaps mean that you see them saved as contacts anywhere? Can you send over a screenshot of where they appear on your Dropbox account? Please make sure to hide their personal info first.

Hey JACB1 - sorry to hear about this.
Can you please elaborate a tad on the issue you're facing?
Also, could you clarify the page you're navigating to see the options you shown in the screenshot?

Hi! I went to Admin Console - Members - 2nd option is "Outside Collaboration".
I don't know most of the people listed here. They were loaded to my account when a client inadvertently was added to "My Team" instead of just having access to 1 Shared file.
How do I either clear the list of people or delete the list of people??

Hey JACB1, I'm afraid this list cannot be deleted or cleared, but I've passed your comments along to our team about this.
This client that you added to your Dropbox team, are you sharing a folder with them?
And is this folder possibly shared with the people on this list?

I deleted the client immediately and currently am not sharing any folders with him.
He however thinks he deleted his Dropbox account in trying to disconnect with me.
May I send you his name and email privately??

You'll actually need to convert their account back to an individual one, using the steps in this article.
If you simply deleted them, that would indeed delete their account as well.
You should be able to restore them to the team using these steps, and then convert them to an individual account, so they can be removed from the team, but keep their account and personal files.
