Just as the subject implies. I right click on a folder or file, choose "Copy Dropbox link" and when I paste it into a forum, it looks OK, but when I submit the post, it has my link with the words "Simplify your Life" added to the link. Other users of the forum find this suspicious and are often reluctant to click on these links. How can I prevent this rude, spammy behaviour?

That's very polite, but I've spoken to three of your colleagues and so far nobody can locate where those three spammy words are populating from on your website and nothing has changed, so... ?

Having the same problem here and it's now THREE years since the first post. Has this been fixed yet? It's causing me real problems with my clients trusting links I send. The words "Simplify your life" appear when I paste the dropbox folder link into Whatsapp, but not into an email.

Dropbox doesnt add that to links so it sounds to me like some third party is doing it (maybe the forum software?).

I'm getting this as well - no indication except in the copied link file title.

Has anyone found out where this is coming from?

Where are you trying to paste the link to? If you simply paste the link into your browser, do you notice this behavior, or does the name of it displays without an issue?

The phrase appears when I paste the link into WhatsApp. Doesn't appear on Telegram, so WhatsApp is the only place that it shows up - on the preview within the app.

Hi konnektor, if you don't see the same message when pasting the link itself on your browser, then it's most likely what Rich mentioned above.

Very weird though - the file is a video exported from ScreenFlow direct to a DropBox folder, then the link is derived from the Dropbox "copy Dropbox link" command via contextual menu. This doesn't happen with non-Dropbox links pasted into WhatsApp.

There's a gremlin somewhere...
