Changing file status to or from available offline changes the Modified Date

When i change the status of a file or folder from online (located on disk) to offline (available on Dropbox Cloud only) or the other way,

its changing the Modified Date, is there a way bypassing that, so only real modified files will be effected?

Hi TWNTY1, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Is this the modification date as it appears on the Dropbox site, or on the local machine in Explorer/Finder?

This will help me to assist further!

I have the same question.  Today when Dropbox Backup Upgrade was started all the local machine file dates are modified to the time they are being backed up.  So now I have hundreds of files on my Mac in one folder for example that were from 2006-2008 that show as "modified" today so I have no way to look up a file based on when it was last used.  Very annoying.
