Download file vs Save as Shared Folder
In a shared folder admin will be notified if file is downloaded by pressing the download button within dropbox, but does right click/save as do the same?

Hi there MHP86, thanks for using Dropbox and welcome to the Community!
When you say admin, are you referring to a team admin on a team Dropbox account or maybe to the owner of a shared folder?
Let us know and we'll take it from there.

Hi Walter,
I'd say the Folder Owner.
That would also mean team admin I assume?M

This would depend on the accounts you're using MHP86
Are you all part of the same Dropbox for Business teams account or are you all using individual accounts?

Same dropbox.
All using work email addresses

Hi MHP86, sorry, could you clarify exactly what you mean 'the same Dropbox'?
What is your current plan according to this page? What are you trying to do, add a shared folder to your account, download a file in a shared folder, or anything else?

Hi Jay,
I'm on a basic dropbox plan through my work email.
I have a shared folder for colleagues containing copyrighted information for reference but not to be downloaded.
There's a download button on dropbox page that notifies me when this occurs but would the same thing happen if i right click / save as a pdf document?Thank you

Hi from me as well, MHP86!
How was this folder shared with them? Did you share it by inviting their Dropbox email address, did you create a shared link for it or opened a Dropbox transfer instead?
Can you perhaps upload a screenshot of the Download button that you mention? You can hide any other personal info you don't want to show publicly.
That'll help me assist you further.
