Dropbox icon constantly reports "Indexing 4 files..."
I deleted all files in my personal Dropbox account, then moved a couple gigs of files into it from my work Dropbox account. It took a little while to move the files but has been completed for a couple days but I have a persistent working icon showing and it says "Indexing 4 files...".
How do I determine which files it is supposedly still indexing, or if it is just hung up for some reason? I told it to show me any Sync issues and it says I have no sync issues.
I have quit/restarted several times. Running Windows10.

Hey willy999 - sorry to hear you're having issues with this.
Can you try logging out of your account through the app's preferences and then back in again?
If syncing gets stuck at indexing the same number of files, you can try fixing your hardlinks and permissions.
Apart from that, note that you should be able to tell which files haven't synced yet by taking a look at your files in the Dropbox folder and their syncing icons.
I hope this helps a tad and please let me know of any updates.

I have the same issue, but how can I look through and see which aren't synching? There are thousands of files?

rickvines, did you also check for sync errors and the Dropbox app reports none?
How many files is it indexing at the moment? Does the number fluctuate or does it stay the same?
Finally, I’d like to know what’s the current app version that your Dropbox app’s running.

There are no sync error, and the number started at 84,000, and has sat at 9,829 for 24 hours so far. I just re-installed Dropbox, so it is the latest version.

Can you also do an advanced reinstall and let me know if you see any difference?

I can try that, but since this will be my 4th reinstall, I'd just like to understand why you think this might make a difference. Thank you

Hey rickvines let me also jump in here!
The advanced reinstall is essentially is a step beyond a basic reinstall you can take.
It can help remove any older, saved settings from a previous install of our app, and start fresh. Have you tried this during your troubleshooting?

I completed the advanced reinstall. Same result. Starts at 80k files, gets stuck at 9000.

Now all of my local files show an X and are inaccessible

Can you send us a screenshot of that rickvines?
Have you tried copying or moving those files out of your Dropbox folder and then back in?
