Error message when trying to open Google Docs created in Dropbox

Good afternoon!

Many members of our team have recently started getting 404 error messages when we try and open documents in Dropbox desktop. We have started using Google docs and we weren't sure if that was affecting anything but the documents we are trying to open exist in the files so we aren't sure why it's happening. Additionally, when we try to attach a document in Gmail from Dropbox, it says the attachment cannot be attached and the file size is 0. Does anyone have any insight into why these things are happening and have any fixes?

Thank you!

Amanda

Hi nikkilewis, does this happen with all your Google docs, or just some of them?

Also, are you accessing these files directly from your account, or through a shared link?

This is also happening with our organization. Same timing (mid-December) Is there a posted update for this? Or is it being discussed in another thread? All browsers, even after clearing cache. Happening with shared links. Thanks.

Hey AdrianaR, sorry to hear you're having issues with this.

Can you please clarify if this happens with just a specific file or if it's affecting all of your files?

Also, when you say it's happening with shared links, can you clarify if people are getting errors when trying to access those files or links via a logged in state?

If you could also clarify if you're all part of the same Dropbox for Business teams account or if you're using individual accounts, I'd appreciate it.

Our org already opened ticket with DropBox support. So I'm assuming they'll resolve with our team.

    Glad to hear that, AdrianaR!

If you have the ticket number for the communication, forward it here, so we can look it up in our system as well.

    Thanks!
