Feedback and questions about how selective sync works on Linux
I has taken me the better part of an hour just to a button that allows one to start a discussion. Not sure, but part of the problem may be I was using Firefox. Regardless, it should not be this diff...

I do see that you were able to figure out how selective sync works, which basically removes folders from your Dropbox folder, but keeps them in your account on dropbox.com.
We really appreciate your feedback about our documentation, though, and hopefully I can clarify anything else you might need.
Regarding the backup feature, it's actually not supported by Linux computers.
It's also a feature that allows someone to back up desktop folders like the Desktop, Documents and Downloads folders to Dropbox, but it wouldn't allow you to save hard drive space, which is what you need, right?
So, if saving space is what you need, in your case, selective sync would be the way to go.
