Files added to a folder are only visible to the uploader
We use Dropbox as a file server for small 4 user company spready across the US. We have run into an issue where PDF's uploaded by one user are not visible by other users. We waited over the weekend and other users are still not able to see the file. The status icon displays as synced. The file name is "25-05-28_2070 Google Blk 38 Phase II DD Drawings". Is there any advise on troubleshooting this?

Hey Elijah Davis, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Since you mentioned the syncing icon, I'm assuming that this user is adding the files from their local Dropbox folder, right?
When they do and after the files are synced, can they access them from the Dropbox website?
And how about the other users? Can they access the files from the website?
Let me know and we'll go from there!

Hello Hannah!
Thank you for the help. The user adding the files to the drop box from their local machine. The original user can access and see the uploaded file when others cannot. The only work around is to share via teams. Everyone is using the Dropbox software installed on their local machines and are not accessed via browsers. Meaning, everything is done through explorer and common folders.

Thanks for the update, Elijah Davis, I understand what you mean.
Would it be possible, though, to have the other users access their Dropbox accounts from a browser, to see if they can locate the files there?
This will help us check if the issue lies with the original user or the other ones.
Also, can the original user take a look at the sync status of their Dropbox application?
To do so, they'll need to hover over the Dropbox icon in their system tray/menu bar.

Hello. We were finally got this issue again. On Friday the original uploader added a pdf to Dropbox but when someone else when to get the file it could not be viewed in the browser or explorer. Confirmed that the status in the system tray says everything was synced. As of this morning the file could be seen on the web browser but not the file explorer.

Thanks for the update on this - much appreciated. Do you happen to have a screenshot of the exact error it's giving Elijah Davis?

We aren't receiving an error code or response as much as the file is not there. Are you looking for a screen shot of both browser and explorer.

Yes, I'd need a screenshot of the file showing up on the end of the person who uploaded it (and/or can see it on the website and/or the desktop app) so that we can have visual too Elijah Davis?
Did you try renaming the file by any chance?

Here are snips from the browser view. I've asked them to provide snips of both browser and explorer the next time this happen.
We have not tried to retitle the name of the pdf. Is there a best practice on file names?

Yes, you can find more information about this here, Elijah. Could you have a look and let me know if it helps at all?
Based on your screenshot, the file-path's length might be an issue here, that's why renaming the file to shorten the path could help in this case. Otherwise, you can try copying or moving the file to a folder higher up in your folder structure.
