Files are suddenly zero kb
Hi,
I have browsed through the forums, but couldn't find any relevant posts.
I have a few documents that are several years old, SUDDENLY they are zero kb and cannot be opened. I haven't really changed anything in my set up.
(I am on a Mac, Monterey, OSX 12.6.1, but I'm pretty sure the problem was there even before I updated to Monterey)
The issue relates to BOTH offline and online files, i.e. they are zero kb both online and in my local folder! I have tried switching between "make files available offline" and "online only" but to no avail.
Please help, since these are quite important files.
Thanks//Oscar

Hey Oscar Fogelstrom, sorry to hear you're having issues with this.
Can you please send us a screenshot of the app's exact status and version as shown in your menu bar at the moment and another one showing your files in your Dropbox folder to check their syncing icons?
Thanks so much!

Hi from me too, Oscar! I hope you’re doing well.
From your screenshot, I can see that you’re able to preview your file via the desktop app. Can you please try to open it on your device, and send me a screenshot of what you see then?

Nancy, thanks for getting back to me, this is what happens when I try to preview the file:

Thanks for the screenshots, Oscar Fogelstrom, and sorry to jump in here.
If you right click on one of those files, choose "make online-only" and then switch it to "available offline" again, does that help at all?
- Oscar Fogelstrom3 years agoExplorer | Level 4Thanks for dropping in!:) I have done that several times, to no avail unfortunately. But thanks!

Hi Oscar Fogelstrom, it's rather odd that you see them as zero bytes on the website too.
If you try to check for the previous version of any of those files, are you able to find anything there?

Hi tentful, could you let us know more details about what you're experiencing? What device and OS are you using?
Any other info or screenshots would be helpful!
