Files being downloaded that already are downloaded
I have been using Dropbox for years and have changed my mobile phone several times with no problem however last December I upgraded my Samsung Galaxy S9 to a Samsung Galaxy S21 and took some pictures and when I started to download them to Dropbox although I had only selected the most recent files what happened was that all the pictures on my phone (which had been transferred from the old phone) and which had already been downloaded to Dropbox were being downloaded a second time until my Dropbox was full.
I then had to delete all the duplicates to free up space on Dropbox. This put me off doing this on my phone but the other day I took some more photos and when I started downloading them to Dropbox the same thing happened. This is infuriating and never happened previously when I changed my phone. Can anyone spot what is going on here and how to stop it?

Welcome to the Community, basilfaulty. Let's have a look into this.
First off, I understand that you're trying to automatically upload recent photos to your Dropbox account via camera uploads, correct?
Can you please send me a screenshot of your current camera upload settings, as well as the app version of your Dropbox app?
Ping me when you've got more details!

Hi,
Thanks for your interest in helping me. My Dropbox app version is 334.2.2 and camera uploads are enabled. What I have done so far is copied the photos to a folder on my PC and deleted them from Dropbox so that has saved them all. Now I just need to work out how to delete them from my phone as they have started downloading into Dropbox again. I plan to visit the Samsung shop tomorrow and ask them how to do this.

If you just want to not upload any photos to your Dropbox account from your phone for the time being, you can turn off camera uploads via your mobile app settings, and delete any photos that have been uploaded so far to your Dropbox account (since you've already saved everything in a folder on your computer).
Hope this helps!
