How can I make my files available offline on my computer?
Hi there - I have had my PC replaced and setup Dropbox on my new one. The files are visible but I would like to sync them for offline use. Can you please advise how to go about that as I am unable to find solution details. Thank you.

Hello, I have the same problem: after restoring my pc and reinstalling Dropbox many files are available only on-line. They appear with an X and the icon. Only if I open then once they will be storage locally.
I already have read this guide: "access-files-offline" and my configuration appears to by correct. Plus, in Selective sync all the folders are checked as to be stored localy.
But the problem still.

Hi nicoladonzelli, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
What version of the Dropbox desktop application and your OS are you running on your device?
This will help me to assist further!

Thank you for you message.
Dropbox is 213.4.4597
Windows is an up-to-date Win 10, cause my pc is can't receive the Win 11 upgrade (my CPU is not on their list yet)

What is the current status of the Dropbox desktop application when you click the icon in the system tray?

It says: "up to date"

Hey nicoladonzelli, you mentioned that the files appear with an "X and the icon".
If you could send us a screenshot, in order for us to have a visual, that'd be amazing. Thanks!

Thanks for the screenshot nicoladonzelli - much appreciated.
Can you try moving those files out of your Dropbox folder and then back in and let us know how it goes?
Also, make sure to install the latest stable version of the app from this page.

Thank you Walter
I have the latest stable version installed. If I move a file out of Dropbox and then back in, the new file is right, no X icon but... I can't do that for all my files. How can I tell Dropbox to keep my files stored in my pc?
