How can I share files from my desktop (not app)?

It's pretty straightforward. Before I would log in on my desktop - NOT to Dropbox. I'd go the Dropbox header in File Explorer, and when I left clicked, it would give a somewhat highlighted option about "Copy Dropbox Link" and pasting the output would provide something to paste into an email (e.g., "her are my pics...").
I can get to the same result but now I have to log in to the Dropbox site and click on "Share" to get the link. It's an extra step.
Am I just missing an option?

That option still exists.
Is Dropbox running on your device? What does it say if you mouse over its icon on the status bar and do you get the other menu options appearing?
As Nancy said a screenshot would really help of what you do see on the context menu.
