How do I leave a shared Dropbox folder?
My friend invited me to share a 3gb folder she had. I accepted. Now I want to leave the folder and cant. I followed the advice from: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZoTpNkvPCI

- 7 years agoHey Padidto5,To remove yourself from the shared folder while youâre a member, try doing so from the website:
- Sign in to the website.
- Click Files.
- Navigate to the shared folder you want to permanently remove from your Dropbox account.
- Select the Share button that should appear next to the folder when you hover over it.
- Find your name under the list of emails.
- Click on the Can view/Can edit thatâs next to your name.
- Select Remove my access.
If youâre not seeing this option or youâre still having trouble with this, let me know.

Hi Walter,
Yes, it's my laptop and I have admin rights. As you can see from the pics though, the folder is created on Dropbox - not by me.

3 years agoHi again, Amanda!
If syncing is still paused on your Dropbox app, please resume and try these steps to fix hardlinks/permissions. After that, please give some time to the app till itâs up to date.
Are you able to unlock or delete this folder now?
If none of this works, click on the small Dropbox icon in your menu bar at the top, and go to your âSync historyâ. Are there any sync errors there?

Hi Nancy, the syncing is done but I am still unable to delete or unlock the folder. There is no sync error.
