Just make sure to toggle off the early releases from your account's settings first.

Can you confirm: when you're attempting to paste the link, where are you pasting it? Are you selecting a text field/box?

Also, I want to note that, currently, this pop-up experience is only in our "beta" version of the app. You'll know you're on beta if the middle number of your app version is "3" (e.g., 216.3.4255).
If you'd like to switch to the "stable" version of the Dropbox app (with less experimental features), you can download it here.

THIS DOES NOT WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'VE UNINSTALLED AND REINSTALLED VIA THAT LINK YOU SENT AND EACH F**KING TIME IT INSTALLS A VERSION WITH A .3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
