I saved some folders to online-only but now I can't see them on my computer
Hello,
I somehow saved some folders to online only... but I cannot see them on my desktop app.
When I click on them in dropbox online it doesn't give me the option to put them back on my desktop...

I thank you as it was resolved. I didn't know I had to wait a while.
But I am still lost as to how to make my few folders that are online only that I cannot see on my desktop. I have right clicked on them but there isn't a sync option or a make available off line option.

2 years agoHi vacmmc, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Could you let us know how you saved these folders as online-only?
Did you perhaps use the selective sync feature, which would remove folders on your computer but keep them on the site?
This will help me to assist further!
- vacmmc2 years agoHelpful | Level 6I'm so sorry that I am not sure. I downloaded the app. It then told me to select what I wanted for online only. It said I would still be able to see the folder on my desktop but the folders I selected I can only see online and so I can only add to them online as well.

Thanks for the additional information vacmmc - much appreciated.
May I ask if you're running the desktop app at the moment?
If so, could you take a look at your menu bar/system tray and let us know the app's status and version?

the task manager says I am using 38% of my disc. But my C drive says it is using almost all of the disc.

Open Dropbox Preferences, select the Sync tab and click the Modify button under the Selective Sync section. Check the folders that you want to sync to your computer.
Note that this is not the same as the Online-only feature. To control the online/offline state of your files or folders, once they're visible on your local drive, right click them and you can select Make online-only or Make available offline, but the folders must first be checked in Selective Sync.
