iPhone disconnects and Camera Uploads won't sync my photos on the desktop app
I have an issue with the automatic upload of my photos from my phone. I used to plug my phone into my computer and it would automatically upload my pictures from my phone into my computer (connected by usb cable) but it hasn't been working for months and I can't find a solution..
The issue is that Dropbox sees that there is photos and videos to sync but it barely starts before it goes "The device was disconnected, 0 photos and videos have been uploaded". The app on my Win11 laptop says " Your files are up to date". Of course I haven't touched my phone, I even keep the screen unlocked. It would not even think there are new photos until I changed the Autoplay setting to "Ask me every time" where it will actually notice that there are new photos to upload.
Any ideas?
thx

Hey jpkoval, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Would you mind turning the Camera Uploads feature off on the desktop app, then restarting your computer and then turning it on again, to see if that helps?
Also, which version of the Dropbox application are you using on your computer?
You'll see that by hovering over your Dropbox icon, along with the sync status of the app.
Let me know and we'll go from there.

I fouond I can copy them to the camera upload file using Windows copy feature and then they would sync to the server. version is 215.4.7202 I will try the restart. Thanks

Tried the restart, etc. method. Got new error "6,XXX photos or videos from Apple iPhone couldn't be imported. 0 photos or videos were imported."
It is somehow seeming to want to import ALL of the photos from my phone, not just the new ones it didn't already upload. It should only be 100 or so....
Any more ideas?

Hi from me too jpkoval - thanks for the additional information.
Could you send us a screenshot of the exact error you're getting now so that we can have a visual too?

Thanks for the screenshots, jpkoval.
Can you reinstall the Dropbox application on your computer (without uninstalling it first), to see if that helps?

Tried reinstall. Connected phoe, selected upload to DropBox, worked on it for about 10 mins, then pop up importin 0 of 9,XXX, then iPhone disconnect message, no photos uploaded. Any more ideas? Thx

Thanks for trying, jpkoval.
This time, can you also uninstall the app, before reinstalling it?

OK, uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled, let it sync up, then connected iPhone. It seems like that worked, but I need to take a few new photos and see if it works next time.
Thx
