is copy of screen recording held on desktop

Im using Dropbox Capture and recorded something last night that lasted about 45 minutes - when I stopped the recording it went to the Dropbox Capture page on the web and said it was uploading but 24 hours later it has not moved - its quite an important recording, i assume there is a temporary copy stored locally, any idea where that might be please?

Open your Dropbox folder and in there should be a folder called 'Capture' with it in 🙂

Thanks for the speedy reply - so looking online at my Dropbox, the capture folder is empty.

    .

When I try and look at my dropbox folder on my desktop it gives the attached error message

Hey kakshaks! Sorry to hear this.

Can you please try to save a short recording instead (that lasts a couple of minutes), and let me know if the same thing happens?

many thanks for the reply - i have a little more information.

i tried a shorter recording and once i stopped the recording, a web browser window is opened and i caught an error message saying 'The media could not be loaded, either because the server or network failed or because the format is not supported.'
it does then seem to upload but unable to play the video as it issues a corrupt file message

Hey kakshaks, could you try connecting to a different network to see if the response is the same?

Also, make sure you are using the newest version of your web browser and Capture as well.

Lastly, you could also give a try changing the recording resolution: click “⁝” (vertical ellipsis) in the top right corner of the app, select Preferences, and make a selection using the dropdown next to Video quality.
