Missing 'Copy Dropbox link' option in Windows
Hi everyone π
on the right click of edge browser, to move/back up to Dropbox keeps going missing and have to keep reinstalling drop box every day
is there a fix for this please
thanks
Just an update in that Dropbox has gone missing from right click, so I have had to reinstall.
All OK again for the time being

Hey fourbanks, let's jump right into this!
You mentioned re-installing and also Edge browser, so it's not entirely clear to me if you're using our website, or desktop app.
I'm assuming you're referring to the desktop app, is that so? If yes, then can you hover your mouse over the little Dropbox icon, on your task bar next to your WiFi, and let me know the app's version, please?
Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there!

Hey fourbanks, and how often does this happen on your end?
If you could also send us a screenshot of what options you're seeing when you right click on your files in the Dropbox folder, I'd appreciate it.
Have you rebooted your computer since you first noticed this?

As I said it's there one day showing with all the others settings in the edge right click the next day it's missing from the Dropbox section

it's showing now because i have reinstalled Dropbox, but then will go missing at some point soon for some odd reason. Prior, i have never had any problems over the years with this error

Hi fourbanks, can you also clarify the app's syncing status?
Does this occur when the files/folders are at the top level of your Dropbox folder or in a specific folder?
Can you also please clarify if you're able to copy the shared link of the same files/folders when you navigate to them via the website?

Hi Megan
the syncing status is fine and that's never been a problem.

Hi from me too, Nick! Sorry for jumping in.
I believe what Megan was asking is whether youβre not seeing the Dropbox options for all Dropbox folders, or for specific ones instead.
When these options go missing on your computer, have you noticed if the Dropbox icon in your system tray disappears, as well? This is usually happening when the Dropbox appβs not running.
Finally, whatβs the OS version of your device? Did you start having this issue after an update perhaps?

Hi nancy π
all the folders on right-click show up when working but when not working or syncing the icon goes missing as well in the tray
this is on both Windows 10 and 11 and up to date
Dropbox is in my start-up with windows, so am still unsure on what's going on
at the moment all is going OK but will report back when it's stops
