My Dropbox folder takes up 1 TB of hard drive space when I only have 210 GB in my account
I have a 2T plan on my Mac the dropbox folder is taking up 1.02 T. on line when I look at my account it says:
I have 3.2 gig available on the Mac and Drop box is saying it can't sync. Why is dropbox taking up 1 T when there is only 210 gig on line.
- Thank you for the reply what am I reading wrong it says shared files 1.08 gig and 1.8 gig free?

One more thing, msmorto92.
Have you ignored any of your files or folders using these steps by any chance?
I'd also assume that your desktop app shows 'up to date' while we speak, yes? - msmorto924 years agoHelpful | Level 6
Not sure if I responded to this did not even know that you could Ignore files. drop box is down to 224 gig now but that is wiht smart sync on. with smart sync off it should be at what 208 gig.

Hi, until yesterday I had 7 or 8 GB of storage space. I bought a new computer and when I downloaded dropbox it said I had only 2 GB and would I please buy more storage. I have no idea what is going on

You have almost certainly accidentally set up a new account rather than logged in to your old one.
Have a look at www.dropbox.com/events - does that show activity from before you bought the new computer and installed Dropbox?

It does show the normal activity prior to the new computer.

Hey Eamonn McDonagh, sorry to jump in, but could you let us know what exactly is reported in your account's plan tab in regards to your quota?

All my own fault and all fixed now. because DB normally works so well I hadn't logged into my dropbox page for like *years* was thus a bit confused by what I was seeing. Thanks all and sorry to have wasted ppls time.
