My entire Mac home folder now exists within dropbox?!

Are you referring to the Dropbox Backup feature? Are you interested in disabling that feature?
Have you tried marking your Dropbox folder as available offline?

Hi, thanks for your help. While I wasn't concerned about the backup feature, I did learn that you could right click on a folder and choose to make it available offline, which is what I did.
