My shared link gives a 404 error when I try opening it in a private window. Why is that?
Hello
When i copy a link to a shared file and insert it in my browser, it works just fine. But if i go to "Private Mode" it says "Error" 404.. How to fix that?

I upload a file to my dropbox in my browser, then press "share" and "create link". Then I press "copy link", go to a new tab and the link works. Then i try to open a private session and I get the error 404 every single time.. I've tried with different files, but it is the same result. So I am really lost here....

5 years agoSorry to be jumping in here JamesDeanTheSecond, but could you create a test shared link to a sample file and share it with us to see if it's working properly?

I see; thanks for that JamesDeanTheSecond.
Since your shared link is giving a 404 error, could it be that your shared links have been banned?
How long have you been getting this?- JamesDeanTheSecond5 years agoExplorer | Level 3
Maybe, I did receive a mail a few weeks ago about a banned file, but i don't know why..
But the link I shared is to a doc i just created, so that shouldn't be banned?
