System Tray Window shrinks every time I open it
This started happening out of nowhere today. The system tray window continually shrinks from its bottom-right corner every time I open it. I can't resize the window and after 5 or 6 clicks it's so small that it's completely unusable, as none of the text or icons are displayed anymore. I tried restarting my PC, uninstalling + reinstalling Dropbox, the problem still persists. I've never had this problem with any other system tray app.
Now the only way I can see options like Pause Syncing and Preferences is by right-clicking the system tray icon. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?
Hi Darryl!
We've addressed those issues in our recent Beta Builds, and we anticipate that it will function smoothly in the next stable version (expected in the upcoming week).
Let us know if you can still spot this issue after upgrading it.
Thanks.

Hey TBat, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
This is quite weird. The thing is that the window that opens when you click on the Dropbox icon, is not re-sizable and cannot be moved.
So, is it possible that you made any changes to your display settings recently? Like zooming in on your screen perhaps?
Also, right and left-clicking on the Dropbox icon, should show you the same window. Can you send me a screenshot of the options you see when you right-click on it?
Thanks!

Thank you for your response, Hannah
When I left-click I get shrunken tray window shown in my initial post. When I right-click the Dropbox app icon I get the taskbar options instead, as if the icon itself isn't registering the click. Shift-left clicking the icon is the only way I can pull up the Dropbox menu.
My system > display scale has been set to 125% for years, I tried resetting it to 100% but the problem persists.

Hey TBat, sorry to jump in here, but can you clarify your computer's exact OS version?
Have you updated it recently or did you install any 3rd party apps perhaps?
- TBat4 years agoExplorer | Level 4
Walter Windows 10.0.15063 (Version 1703). I'm using this version because later Windows Updates have interfered with apps I need for work.
I haven't installed any 3rd party apps recently. For years I've had a few apps that modify the screen layout (Fences, 7 Taskbar Tweaker, TaskbarX) but none of them have ever has this effect, and to my knowledge they haven't been updated recently either.

Sorry for the delay here, TBat!
Would you mind disabling these third party apps, one by one, to see if that helps at all?
Since these are apps that affect the layout/organization of normal Windows functions, they could be contributing to the issue.

I am having this same problem using Windows 11 on a Dell XPS 2022 model desktop. Is there a solution yet?

HI darrylschick, this issue was last reported in August 2022, and should've been resolved. Are you using a zoomed in desktop or DPI settings?
- darrylschick3 years agoCollaborator | Level 9
I have not seen the problem in the past week but will report back here if it happens again. I am using standard windows 11 display settings (recommended resolution of 3840 x 2160 and 150% text size). I also move a laptop that has had this same issue between three different monitors at home and work, if that matters. Thanks!

Here is a screenshot. Every time I open it, it gets smaller and smaller. Any ideas why this is happening?

And now an hour later it looks like this:
