Did they click on the notifications bell on their web Dropbox account, and there’s no prompt there to grant you access to this specific folder?
Are they seeing the same notifications via different browsers?
Finally, can you send me a screenshot of the error you mention in the beginning? I’d like to have a look.

The update now is that she did finally get my request after I sent it a few more times and she did accept it but I am still not seeing the folder in my dashboard. The usual steps that I take to get access... none of them have been working today.

Hmm, I see. Are you unable to see it via different browsers?
If she checks the sharing settings of the folder, do you appear as an active member on it?
