PC died, I removed from SYNC, but now cannot see those files

I had three sync´d devices- two pcs and a phone, on the basic plan. My main pc died. I have rebuilt a replacement PC, and went to install dropbox. It asked me to remove one device (limit of 3), so I removed the main pc from "sync". It said the files would still be available, but no longer sync. But now it appears to have made those files unavailable. Anyone know how to revert the settings so I can see the pc backup which I removed from sync? Very grateful for any wisdom!

  • Hi Hannah, for some reason only one sync´d machine showed. I logged out and back in again, and then it showed the main pc, which had died. So I now have the backup. Very simple and now solved. Thankyou

Hey gduffydc, thanks for posting to the Dropbox Community.

Can you please give us a few more details on the issue?

Why are you not able to access your files? Are you getting some kind of error message?

And are you referring to all your Dropbox files or specifically your backup ones?

Any additional info would be really helpful.

    Thanks in advance!
