Question or Issue
I know many people have had this issue with file sharing being blocked. I understand there are some workarounds. Last night I sent off my Christmas message video.. and the link failed. Apparently due to phishing content. But it was my own content. Doh. So my question is.. WHY is Dropbox obstructing this basic cloud storage function? Is it a mistake? Or just a bad policy decision? Of course it is bonkers and annoying. Otherwise, Happy Christmas to all!!

There are a few different reasons why sharing could be blocked. Refer to this help article for details. If you need additional information you'll need to contact Support directly.

Hi tom4gail, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
It sounds possible that sharing was paused on your account, but let's see what we can find about this together.
Have you checked this article to see if any of the files you're trying to share, or have already shared breaches the Terms of Service? You can also take a look here for more info.
We're going to have to look into account-specific info here. For that, I just sent you an email in order for us to investigate further.
Reply back to me, and we'll take it from there. Thanks a bunch!
