Share files and folders with friends that do not have Dropbox

Hi,

can I share files and folders with friends that do not have Dropbox?

Or is it necessesary for my friends to have Dropbox in order to being able to download my shared files and folders?

Thank you for helping me.

Regards

Affe

  • Hey Affe, sorry to jump in, but I just wanted to clarify that people that are going to be accessing your shared links will also have the option to download the files your shared links point to, apart from previewing that is.

    I hope this clarifies!

Hi Affe, thanks for posting on our forum!

If you want your friends to download files from your Dropbox account, you can create a shared link for them. This doesn’t require them to have a Dropbox account of their own.

You can check more details on this here

If there’s something else I can help with, let me know.

Thank you Nancy for helping me.

But, I clicked on your attached link and there I could read in Swedish:

"Om du delar med nÄgon som inte har ett Dropbox-konto, kan den personen endast förhandsvisa filen eller mappen."

In my English translation this says that " if you share with someone who doesnÂŽt have a Dropbox account, that person can only preview

the file or the folder ".

Does that mean after all that they can not download files or folders without an account?

    Regards Affe
