sync icons are missing
I use Dropbox on iPhone and 2 PC's: Surface and HP all-in-one.
Synchronisation goes fine on all three however:
On the Surface all files and folders show sync icons.
On the HP no sync icons at all. I could not find out why and did not manage to make the icons appear on the HP as well.
Who can give the key to solve this problem?
Hello from me as well, Mebius! I’m glad to hear you figured this out.
From what I know, this is the limit for the overlay icons, as well, and it can’t be increased. However, since this is something regarding the Windows OS, I’d recommend having a look with Microsoft, in case there’s a workaround or something else they can suggest.

Have you reinstalled the Dropbox application yet?

Hi Mebius, I hope you're doing well!
Could you let me know the app's version, and syncing status on the device that you can't see the icons on? Have you tried restarting your device at all?
Keep me posted!

Hi Megan, thanks for reacting.
I've just removed and newly installed Dropbox from the website. I see a number in the app-list: 162.4.54109. Syncing goes fine; the only problem is that there are no icons when using my HP (on my Surface the icons do appear as expected).
kind regards, Mebius

Hi Mebius, thanks for the update!
Could you attach some screenshots of the files/folders inside your Dropbox folder, in order for me to have visual too?

Hallo Megan,
This is a screenshot of my Surface (with icons):
And here below of my HP (no icons):
Is this the answer you expected?
kind regards, Mebius

Hi Megan,
I did not use an app from a store, but downloaded very recently Dropbox from the official Dropbox site.
The syncing gose fine, except that the icons do not appear on my HP all-in-one desktop.
kind regards, Mebius

Hi Mebius, happy Monday!
I see. Can you also take a look into my colleague's response and troubleshooting about a similar problem here?

Thanks again.
I did not (yet) try this. I stopped at the following level:
I'm hesitating because it might cause that I loose syncs on OneDrive.

Eureka!
I just checked the registry on my Surface:
And indeed: Dropbox on top.
So this is the reason why the icons do not appear on the HP.
I can change it if I want.
Thanks for your help.
One more question: Explorer has a limit for 15 overlay icons only. Can this number (easely) be increased?
Kind regards, Mebius
