There's no option to share a link via the Dropbox desktop app on Windows 11
It appears that MS has updated something and my option to share dropbox link in the file explorer is no longer available. Does anyone know a work around or if there is a setting that needs to be re-done? Thank you

Hey jalayo , welcome to the Community!
Is the option to create a shared link the only one that’s missing from the context menu of your desktop app? Do you see any other options, when right clicking on your Dropbox files?
In the meantime, you can try to do this via the website instead.
If you look at your system tray (close to your clock settings), are you seeing the small Dropbox icon? If yes, I’d like to know the syncing status and app version it reports.
Let me know how this goes.

Same problem here. Running Windows 11 - Ver: 23H2. Right clicking any Dropbox folder does not bring up any Dropbox associated context in the menu. You only see the typical Windows options. Clicking "Show More Options" doesn't show anything additional. The Dropbox app is running -version v203.4.4857. I only noticed this today when trying to share a folder. Not sure how long it's been this way. Yes, I know I can do it from dropbox.com, but not nearly as convenient. I suppose Microsoft is trying to force people to use OneDrive (which leaves a lot to be desired). Help!

Thanks for all the details you’ve shared, Jimski27! Appreciate it.
Did you notice this after any kind of update?
Have you tried reinstalling the Dropbox app? If not, give that a go and let me know if the options are still missing.

Hi Weglarz, is this option missing for files in the Dropbox folder?
Could you attach a screenshot showing the options you get in the context menu?

Seems like not all files are syncing with some having a green check mark in circle and others with recycling type rounded arrows.

Hey Weglarz! From what appears on your screenshot, you’re missing all Dropbox options from your context menu.
Can you clarify the current syncing status and app version of your Dropbox app?

Unsure of what app version on my laptop. How do I check to update? Or maybe it was a recent update?
Some files definitely are out of sync

Are you seeing the small Dropbox icon in your system tray at the moment (close to your clock settings)? If you are, and you hover over it, the app version should be visible (if your app is updated, you should be seeing this app version).
