Transferring files to a new computer without resetting the creation dates
How do I transfer a folder to my new computer without it resetting the dates to the date of the transfer?

Dear Hannah:
Thanks for your reply.
I got a new desktop with much smaller SS hard drive. As a result, I only wanted to transfer just a few folders. I got one transferred okay, keeping the original dates created. However, when I went to transfer another folder, all the dates were changed to the date of the transfer.
Would I be better off uninstalling and due another setup on the new computer? Or is there away to just transfer that folder and keep the original dates?
Thanks!
Chris.

2 years agoHi chrstmar, if you install the Dropbox desktop application, and use the selective sync feature, then you can allow only the folders you want to appear on your new computer.
The original dates and times should appear on the files within the folder. Could you try this out and let me know if this works?
