Unable to upload newer versions of files
Device
(MacbookAir)
Operating System/Browser (if using the web)
macOS26.31
Dropbox App Version (if using the app)

Question or Issue
Hey - I'm following the instructions to simply drag in the new file with the same filename, but nothing happens, the file doesn't appear as a new document, or as the updated version of the existing file. Operating on a corporate account "Advanced" so not sure if we need a different version in order for this feature to work, or if there's some setting I don't have turned on?

Glad to hear that cfairlie!
As for your Chrome browser, you can try clearing the cache, an incognito window and also ensure that it's up to date.

Could you clear your browser's cache and/or try another browser and let me know how it goes cfairlie?

All of the files are within our corporate account so everyone at the firm has shared access to the same files, but they aren't expressly "/share" like your link.

Do you have share access to the file? If you've been sent a read only link you wont be able to reupload your changes.
Does the folder appear at http://www.dropbox.com/share for your?

I'm dragging a Word doc from the Finder window into the Dropbox web folder in Chrome. Does that help? Note that the file is one that was downloaded from the web version into my downloads folder, updated, saved, and then dragged back in to try and get a new version of the same document. When I view the version history, it only shows one version. This has been true for several different documents, same fact pattern.

Hey cfairlie - sorry to hear you're having issues with this.
Just to make sure we're on the same page, can you clarify the exact steps you take to do this?
Are you using a particular web browser or are you doing this via the Dropbox folder on your computer perhaps?
Any additional information or even screenshots are more than welcome!
