Hi Jay,
thanks for getting back to me, I didn't try to mark the entire Dropbox folder as offline because it would make me lose access to many files that I regularly use. I'm using Mac OS X (latest version) with the beta version of Dropbox 175.3.5544.

3 years agoMarking files as available offline means that they would download to your machine, and would stay there.
As it sounds like you're on the newer version of the Mac OS Dropbox desktop application, this is a feature in order to free up space when the drive is low on space.
