Hey chinchilla13, thanks for your patience while we looked into this internally.
I checked back with the team on this one and they've confirmed that the 'Upload From' feature requires Android 11.
I hope this helps and sorry for the tardy reply.

3 years agoHey chinchilla13, sorry to jump in here, but I just wanted to mention that I'm using the latest version of the Dropbox mobile app on my Android 10 device and the option to 'upload from' is there when I try to turn on the camera uploads feature.
Could you send us a screenshot of the options your friends see in the mobile app on their device?
You should be able to attach a screenshot in your reply via the camera icon (insert photo option) in your reply box.
If you're on a mobile device and not seeing it, you may need to request the desktop version of the website.

Hey there Walter! Thank you for coming by. I attached the screenshots now (switching to desktop made it possible). Her system language is German, that's why it's in a different language. Both of us are on the same dropbox app version. But the option to chose "upload from" is simply missing on her phone 😞

Has she tried turning off the camera uploads feature and then back on chinchilla13?
If that doesn't help, she could also try clearing the app's cache.
Keep us posted with any update!

Tried both of those now, didn't change anything. Guess I'll have to uninstall the app and reinstall next? I'll get to that tomorrow
