Uploading selection of photos from Camera Roll to Camera Uploads folder via the iPhone?
How do I re-upload just one year of photos from iPhone to Dropbox with Camera Uploads? I tried selecting and sending but the file name is wrong - I want it to have the year-month-date the way it does with Camera Uploads. Then I put them in an album and tried "selecting where you’d like to upload from” but nothing. Paused Sync and restarted but still nothing. Under “Back up…” my only options are All Photos or one date. Seems like I should have more options like start and end date, or album(s).

It would be possible to do that, namely a full re-indexing and re-uploading of all files in your camera roll.
You can contact the support team directly, and they'll be able to assist you with this process.

You're correct that the older images were uploaded to Dropbox, however, about half the year disappeared somehow, but they are still on my phone.
How can I reset my Camera Uploads to do a wholesale download of my whole Camera Roll?

The camera upload feature is automatic, so it would detect any new photos and videos taken on your device and would then upload them.
What you're asking for is a little different, since you want to re-upload photos that are already previously uploaded, which is what I'm gathering given you said 're-upload'.
Currently, there isn't a method to select a certain number of photos to re-upload to Dropbox, as there would be a previous record of the same image being uploaded in the past.
If I'm mistaken regarding the older images, that they were already uploaded to Dropbox, please let me know.

Thanks, Jay. I did use the automation feature to rename with the date, but it didn’t rename videos. So I learned something, but I still need an answer to how I can use Camera Uploads to add photos to dropbox. Or is that not possible?

Hi dmarieslc, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
If you choose to manually upload photos from your phone to Dropbox, then it would use the existing filenames of the photos as they appear on the phone.
The camera uploads feature does automatically rename the files to the format you're referring to.
You could use an automation to rename the photos using the metadata in order to get them in the name format you want.
If you need any further assistance, please let me know!
