Users create conflicted copies without ever opening the file.

We have one particular user whos name is attached to conflicted copies of files. The user has never opened the files and the they are often not the one who actually creates the conflic...
The current file types are .vwxp, which is a Vectorworks Project File used with the Vectorworks drafting program.

Dropbox Community ModeratorAre you certain that the user doesn't have the files open on their machine? Are they opening the file using a different method to everyone else?
Do they have some kind of read-only restriction on those files, which could result in a conflict?
The user has not opened these files. They are created completely on their own.
These files are part of a project file ecosystem for collaboration. Each user opens the main "project file" which then creates a "working file" that is unique to them. This allows multiple users to modify the same drawing file at the same tile as well as check items in/out for editing. There is no read/write access to these files at the Dropbox level. Permissions are set for each file within the file.
The files in question have not been accessed by the user who is having the conflicted copies named after them. We're also not experiencing the issue with any other users that have access to the same files and programs. We've also never had this issue before. This is new in the last month or so. Dropbox is also listed as an approved cloud storage solution for the project files.

There must be something related to their setup on their machine that is affecting the files in that folder, even if they're not opening them, in order to make them conflicted. As to what that could be, I couldn't say.
