Jay, If I delete backup, do I lose the files from DropboX? They would then only exist on my PC.

The Dropbox Backup is generally files from your Desktop, Documents and Downloads folder (depending on what was selected). When you delete the backup, you get the option to 'Keep content in folders on this PC/Mac', which will restore the folders back to their original locations, and no data should be lost.

Yes, you can delete files from your Dropbox folder or from the site.
You won't be able to delete from the Dropbox Backup on the site, only from normal files syncing to your account.
