Quota
304 TopicsMy Dropbox account is showing 3x more data than I have on my disc and shared folders.
Hi, recently my Dropbox has warned me about going above quota (I use basic and should have a total of 4.8 GB available). The problem is - it is showing that I've gone to more than 12 GB when in fact I'm using less than 4.6. Here are some screenshots showing what I've been able to determine so far: - Here's the warning message: - Dropbox on my hard drive (I have no files which are exclusively in cloud so this should equal my personal data stored on Dropbox): Sizes of the shared folders I'm a member of: From what I see, worst case I should be slightly over quota, but certainly not at 12 GB mark. Any ideas?? ThxSolved124Views0likes3CommentsSharing large folder with new user, they can't join it without upgrading their account
I have a family subscription which allows me to use 2TB of storage. I want to share one of my folders with a new user who is not part of my Dropbox Family. The folder is over the 2GB basic limit. The user seemingly cannot join the folder without upgrading their subscription to get more storage. Is there a way to make the folder online only, so that the user isn't using their own storage allocation?29Views0likes3CommentsMy quota is being occupied by shared folders
Hi everyone, I'm having problems with my dropbox account, the alert tells me that I have exceeded the space limit (12TB) and therefore I have deleted some large files, even though I have deleted them I continue to have the same problem, from what I see most of the space is occupied by shared files but I don't have so many shared files, can anyone help me?46Views0likes2CommentsI can't access shared folder due to lack of storage space - do I need to upgrade?
I use dropbox occasionally. I have a free account, one I've had for years. This morning I logged in to access some files a friend shared w/me & dropbox will not let me access it unless I upgrade to some "plan". That page is the same page with which I was greeted upon logging in. I'm at about 650 mg of my 2G free account limit. I am not over storage, unless my free account has been somehow restricted/modified. I've tried several times to access the notification to "join folder" from my friend, only to be taken to this prompt:Solved360Views0likes17CommentsMy account is full of shared files - How can I delete them to free up space?
My account is entirely full with files other people shared to me. I have no personal files stored. If I attempt to delete any files from the folder mirrored to my desktop account, it says I need permissions and won't allow me to delete. If I go to the Dropbox website, I can't find a button that allows me to delete a file. How can I delete some of the files shared to me? Will that delete those files on someone else's machine?54Views0likes8CommentsMy quota was suddenly reduced by ~3GB
Hi, I have basically the same issue as described in this thread (https://www.dropboxforum.com/discussions/101001015/dropbox-storage-reduced-from-17-gb/812627) with just different numbers. For years I've had just over 8GB of storage space, and I've stayed below that. On the referrals page, it says I've earned 3.25 GB from "other ways", but I recently got an event saying that my storage space was reduced to 5.25GB, and I'm now over the limit. I'm wondering why my quota was suddenly reduced by 3GB and how I can get that back. I've had this account for over 10 years with this same storage limit, and I want to know why it was suddenly reduced without warning. Thanks! --- Events page: Referrals page: Plan Page:Solved106Views0likes6CommentsHow can I see how my space is being used?
The question is quite clear: the user would like to get more information on how the space is being used. A tool like WinDirStat would help tremendously... Or some overview of all the big folders, and big files. Could you tell us how to get that?143Views0likes4Comments
