If I upgrade but someone else doesn't can they still access shared folders?
I'm on the basic dropbox plan (2GB) and my storage is full so I was going to upgrade but I have an important shared folder that is going to exceed 2GB. If I upgrade to the next tier will the other person (who hasn't upgraded past 2GB) still be able to open the shared folder or will they also have to upgrade?
If they need edit access they'll also need to upgrade if it exceeds the size of there free space (note that they could have more free space than you if they've referrals etc.).
But, if they need read only access just send a shared link instead :)
