My account keeps saying it's full - but it isn't
Hi - I have a 6.3 GB basic account with less that 1.2 GB of data in it, but I keep getting notifications saying the account is full, and it isn't syncing. I've double checked my folders and cleaned o...

Hi,
So it appears that there can be backups that don't show up in your backups page, but are actually still there taking up room. Dropbox support was able to identify it for me and send me a link that would get me to it directly. If you've initiated a backup of your PC that never finished you might have the same issue i did. If you go to the link posted below, and find there are directories there with stuff in them that might be the source of your issues. Once i removed them from dropbox online, my dropbox storage started was I actually had backed up an everything sorted itself. Hope this helps, if not escalating it with dropbox after the contact you will likely have them see a folder that you can't, which they can link you to directly.

Hi ngiglietto76
Just for info deleted files dont use quota, so, deleting the trash doesnt do anything.
Have you looked at www.dropbox.com/backups to see if you have activated that and if its using file space?

Hi, I haven't activated any backups, I can't understand why 13.24 gb out of 16.75 gb are used, can you help me solve the problem? Thanks

Have you checked that nothing at all shows on the link I gave you? www.dropbox.com/backups ?
What does www.dropbox.com/home show? Anything on those 2 pages uses quota - even if its a share from other users.

Hi ngiglietto76, and sorry for jumping in.
In the future, please avoid sharing your account credentials with anyone, especially on a public forum where everyone can see them. I’ve removed them from the thread, but just in case, I’d strongly recommend changing your password to make sure no one else can sign in to your Dropbox account.
Since we also can’t sign in to your account due to security reasons, we’ll need to gather more info on this.
Can you please take a screenshot of what you see here and here, so that I can have a look for you?
