My account keeps saying it's full - but it isn't
Hi - I have a 6.3 GB basic account with less that 1.2 GB of data in it, but I keep getting notifications saying the account is full, and it isn't syncing. I've double checked my folders and cleaned o...

Hi,
So it appears that there can be backups that don't show up in your backups page, but are actually still there taking up room. Dropbox support was able to identify it for me and send me a link that would get me to it directly. If you've initiated a backup of your PC that never finished you might have the same issue i did. If you go to the link posted below, and find there are directories there with stuff in them that might be the source of your issues. Once i removed them from dropbox online, my dropbox storage started was I actually had backed up an everything sorted itself. Hope this helps, if not escalating it with dropbox after the contact you will likely have them see a folder that you can't, which they can link you to directly.

Hello everyone.
Could you help me.
I am getting a notification "Your Dropbox is full and has stopped syncing" even though, I don't store ANY files or folders in my account.
Though I am in a team shared folder which is 4 Gb. Might it be an issue?
My team says that everything is ok with their access and I don't need to buy more space.
I can't upload files whereas I can see everything and download.

Hey Ekaterina Malakhova, welcome to our Community!
Just to clarify, do you use a Basic, free account or are you part of a team? You can check your plan page here.
Provided you're using a Basic account, then a 4GB shared folder, would clutter the account's storage space, therefore it would make sense that you're out of space. Essentially, since the folder exists in both accounts, it's not just your team that would need space.
You'd both need space to edit, and make changes.
Let me know if you have any questions!

Thank you for your soonest reply.
So I'd better to upgrade my plan for more space?
I tried, but somehow it says I am not allowed to.

Hi Ekaterina Malakhova, you can always upgrade for more space.
Do you get any specific errors when trying to upgrade?

I have got an invitation to join the team folder.
But I can't do that because "I don't have enough space".
I have a basic plan. And team members with the same plan are ok.
Do I need some special 'team invitation'?
Do I have to change my settings?

As it says you need more space - they may have more via referrals or have less in other folders. There isnt any settings to change.
Shared folders use up the quota of everybody in them.
