Dropbox is a service that allows you to sync your files across different devices and share them with other people.
When it it comes to online-only files, the expected behavior is the one I described in my previous reply, but you can manually change back the files to online-only at any time.
You can read more about the feature here.
If you don't want to keep your Dropbox files saved to your hard drive at all, you can also use Dropbox through our website at dropbox.com.
