I have reached the maximum space on my Dropbox account. So I deleted files. However, I am not able to regain more space this way! How can I regain more space on my account?

Hi VagnMoerch,
Where did you delete files? It's high recommended to delete files from Dropbox website, and the space updates need some time. Besides, you should know, Dropbox shared folder take up space, check these folder. if you have shared folder, ask the owner to change folder permissions to not share with you, and then it should not take up space on your Dropbox.
If you need to free up space for Dropbox in other ways, migrate Dropbox to another cloud might be an option, and MultCloud can help you out.
Best regards
