Apple Silicon (M1) Desktop Sync Compatibility
Please can you upgrade the Dropbox app so that it works natively on Apple Silicon Macs (M1) without Rosetta.
Rosetta is not an option as it annihilates the battery.
This may be a duplicate of the below idea however that started for ARM processors in general and you haven't looked at it in 6 years so starting an Apple specific idea in the hope you see it.
There are also lots of comments on this thread to help support the case for demand:
Hi all,
Native Apple silicon support is now fully available. All users with Apple silicon devices will receive the native version of Dropbox automatically. If you would like to update your device manually, you can do so by clicking on the latest Stable Build and downloading the Offline Installer (Apple Silicon) file. For more information, visit the Dropbox Help Center. If you need assistance with anything else, please feel free to create a new thread and our community team will be happy to assist.

Thanks for putting this in review Emma
Would you be able to post as to what is going on? It may help.
e.g. I have escalated this to the Product Director as a matter of urgency and I will have a response for you today.

I'm currently paying for both a Dropbox account and upgraded iCloud storage (for home cameras), but I prefer to use Dropbox as my primary storage solution.
If the company really doesn't plan on supporting M1 by the time I upgrade later this year then there's really no reason to keep Dropbox.
It's super weird that this isn't a priority for you guys...

Totally agree that this is showing their cards at Dropbox regarding the sentiment to a big part of their market. Please take a lesson from Adobe on this one. We are also an Adobe business partner and they have led by being the first one to have support for new hardware to the market and their commitment to support it is entirely evident in being the first ones out of the gate to support new hardware configurations. They're not always perfect but I know that we are valued. They do not drag their feet 'WAITING FOR AN ONLINE PETITION' before they decide to make an important business decision. Incredibly disheartening.

Y'all are joking about this response right Dropbox?
M1 Macs are the future for MacOS. Most of us don't just use Macs, we use a variety of devices that YOUR service lets us sync with. Attitudes like this is why I left y'all for OneDrive and absolutely never looked back on canceling this subscription. - Joerie4 years agoNew member | Level 2
Time to leave dropbox then…

This is really unbelievable. It doesn't even directly affect me yet but I know it will in the future when I upgrade my current laptop.
I've been considering alternatives to Dropbox for a while (fee was increased when I "got upgraded") but this is going to push me over the edge.

It’s embarrassing that they haven’t added it yet or at the very least outlined a roadmap.

Dropbox, oh my darlings at Dropbox. How is this a question? Let me rephrase that: this is not a question! You are the leading provider of pro + consumer cloud-computing storage services – *of course* you have to support the latest hardware from Apple – and every other major computer manufacturer. If you don't, I'll have to reconsider my choice to (for now) not switch to iCloud Drive. (That's too many negatives in one sentence, but you know what I mean.)

I'm a business customer (Teams plan), and I will cancel my subscription if there is no native M1 client when I buy my next macbook early next year.

To all the newbs to the thread, this topic has been a point of contention for a long time so put your money where your mouth is. Yes, it's a pain, but I cancelled my decade-long account last week, moved all my files to iCloud and will not be renewing even if they come through with M1 compatible versions.
While it's great that they are getting a lot of traffic on this today and maybe will pay a little attention, it doesn't change the overall corporate attitude that has been embarrassing for a year+
