Bad view after updating Dropbox

Hi,
today I saw an alert that required me to update my dropbox to the new version to grant more compatibility with maOs system (currently I'm on 12.6.1)

After the update the view of each item on dropbox local folder (on my Mac studio) has added a lot more horizzontal space betwen each file and folders so when before the update I could see al lot of item in the same view, now I see nearly half of them!!!
And I can't control the space with the "show view options" panel of the mac (like I can for all other object…)
The only way is to disable the "align to grid" option but it's really crazy!

If this is the new updated view of Dropbox how can I go back to previous version?
I don't like at all because it's very uncomfortable!
Can somebody help me?
Thanks in advance

Hey Lingam, sorry to hear you're having issues with this and thanks for your feedback.

Just to make sure we're on the same page, could you send us a screenshot of what you're referring to, so that we can have a visual too?

If you could also clarify the version and status of the desktop app on your computer as shown in your menu bar, I'd appreciate it.

    Thanks!

      Hi Walter,
      thanks for your help!
Sure, I send you two screenshot of the same folder viewed on two different pc:
      - the first one is on my Mac Studio when Dropbox has been updated yesterday
      - the second one is on my iMac 27" on which Dropbox has NOT been updated

The really strange thing is that both versions on the two pc are exactly the same (v 163.4.5456) (???) but on iMac I don't made any update, in fact I can still see the alert with red dot circle (view screenshot n. 3)

As you can see in the first screenshot, files and folders are much more spaced vertically from each other, thus taking up more space, while in the second one are much more close each other… (just in vertical).

Now, after the update, I have deleted many files and the problem seems less evident but I usually keep many more files in the same folder because I need them for work and I assure you that with this distance, which is fixed and NOT MODIFIABLE, everything becomes much more complicated!
If I had imagined such a thing I would never have updated as this alert asked to do!

How can I do to "force" this type of view going back to view before update?

In all the other folders on the Mac the files are much closer to each other vertically and ONLY in these folders on Dropbox I can't modify them by acting on the "Show View Options" panel: the only possibility is to disable the "align to grid" option but, by doing so, everything is much less orderly!

Thanks a lot for help 🙂
      Marco

      Hi Jay,
thanks for your help but in the page you mentioned it's written to :

      1. Click the Dropbox icon in the menu bar.
      2. Click your avatar (profile picture or initials) in the top-right corner.
      3. Click Preferences.
      4. Under the General tab, click Leave beta experience.
      5. Click Leave beta

I follow all the things until point 4 but under my General Tab there is no "Leave beta experience" link at all, to click on…! (???)
      So I don't know what to do…

Hey Lingam, thanks for the screenshot and the additional details - much appreciated!

Could you please let us know if you're using the Dropbox Backup feature to backup your computer's OS folders or your external drive(s) to Dropbox?

If so, you'll need to follow the instructions that are a bit further down on this page

Let us know if that helps!
