You could do an advanced reinstallation to have the Dropbox folder located on another drive, begin the sync, and then pause the syncing.
Afterwards, you could then copy the files from your old Dropbox folder to the new one, although, bear in mind that this could affect medication dates, depending on how the OS handles it.
Another method might be to mark some folders in your Dropbox folder as online-only, to free up space on your disk drive, and then try moving the Dropbox folder.
