Cannot install app on Windows 11
I cannot install the Dropbox app on my new Windows 11 machine. The regular install file didn't work so I tried using the full install file (Dropbox 173.4.6706 Offline Installer.x86.exe); when that gave me the message "The installer did not complete. Installation has been aborted" I turned off Microsoft Defender Firewall, which gave me the same "abort" message. I am unable to turn off or modify my antivirus program (CrowdStrike Falcon Sensor) due to IT policies. Are there known issues with CrowdStrike? Or is this a different issue that is unrelated to my antivirus program? Thanks!

Hi there marime, sorry to hear you're having issues with this.
I'm not aware of a conflict with the mentioned antivirus program, but you could try temporarily disabling it for troubleshooting's sake or add Dropbox to its exclusion list etc.
That said, can you send us a screenshot of the exact error you're getting so that we can have a visual too?
Thanks!

Hi marime, usually this type of error stems from an antivirus program blocking the Dropbox access.
Is there any way you can talk to your IT and ask them to temporarily disable it, or whitelist it for you?

I have [a similar / the same] problem. The Dropbox installer fails to download Dropbox, and I can't download the full installer.
I get a timed out connection to https://edge.dropboxstatic.com/dbx-releng/client/Dropbox%20143.4.4161%20Offline%20Installer.x86.exe
This is from multiple web browsers on a vanila install of Windows 11.
Many thanks

Hey biosonar, sorry to hear about this.
Could it be that your computer is running on S mode? If so, you can try switching out from S mode and then try the normal installer.
Let me know of any updates!
