Dropbox for MacOS is now ready

It might sound trivial, but have you tried re-starting your device at all, and then following the same steps?
Also, feel free to attach some screenshots in your next reply, in order for me to get the visual too.

Hi Megan,
Sometimes the trivial solutions are the best. Restarting the device and following the steps solve the notification problem. The "secure location" is created and I have the new shortcut in the Finder sidebar.

I am having the issue described in the other posts, in that no matter whether I log out of DB or restart my Mac mini the message keeps returning to Dropbox for MacOS is now ready ... I must have let it run through the process and re-index my files 5 time by now.
I notice in a terminal window that it does not create a folder ../Library/CloudStorage/Dropbox but rather remains where it has always been in my Home folder.
